Noom Med Semaglutide Review of their Program and Costs

Noom, a name that's been around for a while has introduced a leg of their company call Noom Med.  In this Noom Med Semagluttide Review, I cover their program and costs. 

Noom Weight is their original program that includes the Noom App along with Weight Loss support.  Noom Med, the new platform includes the Noom app, Weight Loss Support and also offers compounded Semaglutide as an additional tool in your toolbelt.

For many of us, it's that combination of a GLP-1 weight loss drug plus weight loss support that allows us to learn new habits and keep the weight off after we finish our time on Semaglutide.

Noom Weight Loss Program Options

Noom offers two programs.  Noom Weight and Noom Med.  I'm specifically looking at Noom Med in this blog.

You start out with taking their survey. This will help you determine if you are a good candidate for their program.  The Survey will also help you determine if you qualify for a GLP-1, like Semaglutide.

Noom Med Cost & Weight Loss Journey Options

Noom offers the name brand versions like Ozempic and Wegovy, that you can pick up at your local pharmacy. The initial consultation to get a prescription for these products is $69.   You'll want to ensure you know your insurance will cover weight loss drugs before you ask for the branded, more expensive version of semaglutide. Insurance won't cover generic compounded semaglutide.  

The less expensive option is the generic compounded semaglutide which is  $149 for the first month and then month two and beyond it is $279. This makes Noom Med #16 out of 50 online Semaglutide providers.

How much weight can I lose with Noom Med GLP-1 Program?

Noom Med states that you can lose 48% more weight with Noom Med than users on GLP-1's without Noom.

Noom Med How do I know if I qualify for Semaglutide?

To be considered for GLP medications from most providers, you must have:

BMI of 30+

OR

BMI of 27 or greater AND

the presence of at least one weight-related comorbid condition

(hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol)

BMI is just one factor in determining eligibility, and your Weight Watchers licensed medical professionals will customize a program tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Do they accept Insurance?

They do not take insurance and don't really state if they will help you navigate your insurance.

Is Noom Med licensed in all 50 States?

Yes.

Can I use my HSA credit card?

They claim to offer step-by-step guidance to start your reimbursement.  

Noom Med, What we Like

1) Noom is an organization that has been around for a while. They just recently starting offering the use of Medical Weight Loss drugs in conjunction with their diet programs and have branded this leg of their company Noom Med.

What could be better?

1) They offer a complete package that includes, psychological support, access to certified clinicians along with the medical weight loss drugs.   At $279 per month you have about 15 other options that are more cost effective.
